The types of advice we cover are detailed in our initial meeting and our Blog seeks to give a guide as to some of the types of advice that we have provided to our clients in the past.

ARE YOU ABLE TO PROVIDE ADVICE ON MY EXISTING PRODUCTS?

Absolutely, I will always take into account your existing products as well as comparing what else is available in the market place that suits your needs. As we are independent we do not have any institutional alliances and are not limited providing advice on the products of any specific institutions.

HOW DO YOU KEEP UP TO DATE WITH CHANGES THAT MIGHT AFFECT YOUR CLIENTS?

To maintain my knowledge I complete the equivalent of 40 hours of continuing professional development, of which at least 20 hours are in accordance with the requirements of the Tax Agent Services Act to maintain my certification as a Tax (Financial) Adviser. This is completed with a combination of study and assessments as well as attending industry courses.

HOW DO YOU GET TO KNOW A NEW CLIENT?

Before I begin working with any new clients I arrange a meeting where I seek to get a picture of your entire financial position as well as the goals that you are working towards. The time taken for the meeting can vary depending on the complexity of your circumstances as my main objective is to fully understand your position and needs so to determine if and how I will be able to benefit you through my advice. This also gives each of us the opportunity to determine if we are the right fit for each other.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH A CLIENT WHO HAS A FEW DIFFERENT FINANCIAL OBJECTIVES?

I see the purpose of financial advice being to allow my clients to achieve the goals that are most important to them as fast as is feasibly possible. It is important to recognise that financial advice is not magic and so where it is not always possible to achieve all the goals you were hoping for, where this is the case I will seek to work with you to attain the best outcome based on what is most important to you.

IF I ACCEPT YOUR ADVICE, WHO DO I SPEAK TO IF I HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT MY INVESTMENTS

I always aim to be my clients main point of contact for anything on which I am providing advice where there is an ongoing advice relationship. In the case where I am not providing ongoing advice and you do not wish for me to do so, I will seek to address any questions however I may be required to direct you to another party that would be able to assist you where I am not the listed servicing adviser.

WHAT IS YOUR REPRESENTATIVE NUMBER AND WHO HOLDS YOUR AFS LICENCE?

I am a representative of FYG Planners (No. 1004687). FYG are an independently owned financial planning group that focuses on putting the client first.

WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO GET THEM?

I hold a Bachelors degree in Commerce with a double major in Accounting and Corporate Finance. I also hold a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning. In total I have spent approximately 4 years studying to complete my qualifications. I fully comply with the FASEA education requirements.

WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE AS A FINANCIAL ADVISER?

I have been working in the accounting and finance profession since 2008 and have been authorised to provide advice since 2011. My typical clients vary from young couples and families starting to plan their financial future to established professionals and pre-retirees that are looking to take control of their finances, grow their wealth, and become financially secure. I'm always happy to work with anyone provided I am able to benefit them.
